Species R2PCH2AlMe2 (R = Me, Ph) form stable Lewis adducts at the solid state and in solution but still react with CO2 to form adducts that were attributed to the chemistry of "frustrated Lewis pairs" (FLPs). Observed adducts exhibit unique reactivity compared to their FLPs' counterparts.
